FILMS: Sean “Puffy Diddy” Combs To Star In The Remake Of Gangster Classic “King Of New York”

Diddy To Star In “King Of New York” Remake

Sean Combs and Oscar-winning director-producer Brian Grazer are teaming up on a new take on Abel Ferrara’s 1990 seminal cult gangster classic “King of New York,” with Combs possibly in the lead role, Page Six can exclusively reveal.

The Ciroc and Revolt TV mogul has joined forces with Imagine Entertainment’s Grazer to remake the gritty drama, which starred Christopher Walken, Laurence Fishburne and Wesley Snipes, about a former drug lord who returns from prison to wipe out his competition and distribute the profits of his lucrative operation to help the poor by building a public hospital in a ghetto neighborhood.

Grazer tells us, “Sean optioned the rights to remake ‘King of New York’ for two years. The film is a cult classic, and it will be great to remake it. Our version won’t be exactly the same, but will have the same hard-core gangster feel. Sean wants to be in it, he was amazing in ‘Monster’s Ball,’ and such strong characters sit perfectly with him.” The duo hope to start production next year.

How do you think Puffy will measure up as the star?

Jackin’: Young Jeezy Being Sued By Hells Angels Over “Death Head” Logo

Jackin’: Young Jeezy Being Sued By Hells Angels Over “Death Head” Logo

Young Jeezy may have to change the logo of his clothing line Snowman’s 1832.  Apparently the logo is the same as Hells Angels biker club.  And if he knows like I know, he better go back to his art department pronto!

According to TMZ:

The fabled motorcycle club filed the lawsuit against 8732 Apparel for essentially reprinting the Hells Angels logo on jackets and hats … and selling them for a massive profit.

The 8732 design isn’t an exact rip-off … but Hells Angels claims it’s close enough to confuse people.

HA claims 8732 has already earned substantial profits from the bootleg merch, and the motorcycle club wants every last cent of that money.

The club is now suing for unspecified damages. It also wants a judge to force 8732 to stop selling anything with an HA-looking logo on it. Calls to 8732 were not returned.

Jay-Z, Rocawear Sued Over Nearly Half Million Debt

Jay-Z, Rocawear Sued Over Nearly Half Million Debt

Jay-Z and his Rocawear clothing brand have come under scrutiny, with the New York Post reporting today that the company is being sued by wholesaler iSource NYC. The lawsuit alleges that Rocawear failed to pay the balance on a $1 million order and still owes the company $450,000.

Apparently, the clothing company requested specialized gear with the Rocawear brand printed on it, which was manufactured in Pakistan and then shipped overseas to the States last summer. The debt is still outstanding, and iSource NYC is now suing for $450,000 plus a nine percent interest rate due to the extended timeframe.

Last summer, Jay was starring in a series of commercials for Rocawear, including the “Marcy to Barclays” commercial embedded below, with the company also signing a partnership deal with the New York Yankees.
